Your Interior Decor Style is

COASTAL

The modern trend for coastal style is focused on creating a relaxed and comfortable environment rather than filling the space with ocean-themed references to the point of feeling kitsch. Coastal style is natural, textural and breezy with a lived-in vibe that’s all about feeling carefree, comfortable, and relaxed!

Architecturally, coastal interiors are open plan spaces, with a celebration of natural light and flooring options are usually timber or tiled flooring, softened by textural floor rugs in jute, seagrass, cotton or wool.

This style features layers of white and natural textures with soft furnishing fabrics of washed cottons and stonewashed linens. Linen slip-cover furniture, raw timber tables, woven baskets and jute rugs all suit this style perfectly.

Décor needn’t be overtly ‘beachy’. In recent years, cliché coastal wall art has been replaced by more sophisticated photographic pieces, and décor of shells, coral, oars and lifebuoys have been set aside to make room for abstract pieces such as bowls made from aged wood or shell. Don’t forget to add some oversized rattan or jute pendant lights for serious wow-factor.

The coastal style is also perfect for mixing with Boho style or Scandinavian style.
